Herbs for Animals Course from the Herbal Academy of New England

in ,
Learn the practice of herbalist online at your own pace by studying with the Herbal Academy of New England. New! Herbs for Animals!

I freely admit I am mostly self-taught in many areas of homesteading and chicken keeping.

Over the years, I have read as much as I can from reputable sources including books and magazines, forums and websites moderated by experts in their field, etc.

...but had not embarked on any formal training or course of study ... until several years ago.

So....I was so excited to tell you all that I took the Online Herbal Course at the Herbal Academy of New England  back in 2013.
Yay!

I had been offered the opportunity to do coursework in a field in which I am really interested.

Herbs for Animals Course from the Herbal Academy of New England

As many of you know who read my blog, I have incorporated herbs into so many facets of both our family and our chickens' lives, so to be participating in this course was a dream come true!

"The mission of the Herbal Academy of New England is to teach the art and science of plant medicine honoring our intrinsic connection to nature. We are dedicated to teaching and promoting a lifestyle of wellness and vitality through the use of herbs, sound nutrition, and optimal health practices."

The course teaches the most current herbal information citing scientific data and clinical studies and incorporating well documented criteria, facts, theories, innovation, and guided practice.

It also entails some herbology, mixology and taught me to prepare herbal as well as beauty-enhancing and life-rejuvenating time-tested formulas.

According to the brochure, "We'll have you singing in the kitchen, soaking in the bath, and sniffing your way through this course!" What could BE more fun?

And the best part?

The course is all self-study and online, so I could complete it on my own terms on my own timeline.

All from home!

I successfully completed both the Introductory and Intermediate Courses and learned so much! I highly recommend taking a course.... or two!

As an example of some of the practical, real life uses of the knowledge you'll gain are articles like this:

Scrolling through their blog, this article on Five Kitchen Herbs for Cold Season caught my eye immediately, since it is certainly seasonally-appropriate and packed with great information.

This article on Three Ways to Dry Herbs is also very apropos for this time of year as I try to harvest the last lingering herbs from our garden before the first frost.

If you can't tell, was SUPER excited about this course of study. It was my next step to healthier living for both our family and our animals, especially our chickens!

I hope you'll consider taking a course as well.
